Uchenna is the green building expert and co-founder of Good To Be Green. Before launching Good To Be Green, Uchenna Bright worked for the Green Buildings, China Clean Energy and National Vehicles & Fuels programs at Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) for five years. Although green building and sustainable development research and reporting accounted for much of her time at NRDC, Uchenna also played a major role in a number of large-scale environmental projects, including:

Working with elected officials, government staff and environmental advocates to eventually pass the Clean Air Taxi Act, which reduces taxicab pollution in New York City by ensuring that hybrid taxis are available in the fleet.

Working in direct negotiations with the New York City Council to enact Local Law 86, the Green City Buildings Act, requiring all municipal buildings as well as additions and renovations to existing municipal buildings to achieve standards of sustainability in accordance with LEED.

Conducting a feasibility study and report for the development of a LEED innovation credit that would clean up harmful emissions from diesel construction equipment.
Prior to joining NRDC in 2002, Uchenna worked as a field manager for Washington Public Interest Research Group (WashPIRG) where she canvassed local neighborhoods to promote awareness and action on pressing environmental issues. She attended Rutgers University until she graduated in 200 with a B.S. in Environmental Policy, Institutions and Behavior.
